CCPIT Sub-Council of Chemical Industry (hereinafter referred to as "CCPITchem", "we", or "us") is dedicated to connecting experts and professionals in the chemical industry through various industry events, academic exchanges, and publications. As an important part of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), we cooperate with numerous well-known domestic and international organisations to help professionals work smarter, make better decisions, and promote sustainable development in the chemical and related industries.

When you register for an event we organise or use our services and/or platforms, we collect your personal information directly from you. To the extent permitted by applicable data protection laws, we may also collect personal information from third-party partners and public sources.

Where we collect or store your sensitive personal information (e.g., information about health, disability, or religious beliefs) to facilitate your participation in one of our events, we will generally obtain your explicit consent. In some circumstances, third parties attending our events may collect your information, for example by taking a picture of your business card using our event mobile application or by scanning your visitor badge. We are not the data controller for such data, have no access to it, and bear no responsibility for the third party's use of the data. Aggregated or Anonymised Personal Information
We may aggregate or anonymise personal information we receive about you and other users. Anonymised data may include statistics or analytical information, and we may share such information with third-party customers.
In certain cases, your employer or another organisation may provide you with access to our services. In such cases, your employer will only receive aggregated information and will not receive personal information about your use of our services.
Children's Personal Information
Our services and products are primarily aimed at business professionals and are not intended for children under the age of 16. For most of our events, we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals in this age group and reserve the right to delete such information if we discover it has been collected. For a small number of events, we may collect data from children aged 13 to 17, but only where such information is provided directly by a parent or guardian.
How and Why We Use Personal Information
This section explains how and why we use your personal information.
Product Enquiries, Sales, and Administration
If you enquire about our products or services via the web or telephone, we will use your personal information to respond to your enquiry or take other steps prior to entering into a contract with you. If you purchase or register for our products or services (including trial versions), we will use your personal information (including bank or credit card details) to provide the products or services, send relevant notifications, process payments, and recover debts.
Call Monitoring for Training and Quality
When our staff speak with you by telephone, we may record the call for training and quality monitoring purposes.
Adding Professional Information to Our Products and Consulting Services
If your professional personal information is relevant to our products and is freely available from public sources (e.g., websites, directories, newsletters, industry publications related to your work or profession) or you voluntarily provide it to us to the extent permitted by applicable data protection laws, we will use such personal information in products provided to customers, such as subscription products, research, industry analysis, and insights.
If you enquire about or use our consulting services or research/analysis, we will collect your name, country, job title, company or academic institution, postal address, email address, and telephone number, and use this information to respond to enquiries or provide consulting services.
Event and Exhibition Management
If you attend our events as a speaker, sponsor, exhibitor, or attendee, we will use your personal information in the course of running the event, including processing payments and recovering debts. This includes our legitimate business interests in carrying out logistics, management, and analytics to ensure the smooth running of events and to provide a better experience for our customers.
We also use your personal information to maintain databases, assess your suitability as a speaker or sponsor/exhibitor, promote events, encourage further participation, and in some cases request references. With your consent, we may share your personal information with exhibitors at the event you plan to attend so they may contact you in advance and arrange meetings with you during the event.
In addition, we may take photos and videos at events in which attendees, speakers, sponsors, or exhibitors may appear. To the extent permitted by applicable data protection laws, if you appear as an attendee, sponsor, or exhibitor in our event photos and videos, we may use those photos and videos for promotional purposes. Third parties may also take photos at our events, for example to document the booths or exhibitors they visited. We are not responsible for the collection or use of images captured by third-party cameras.
If the event or exhibition uses attendee badge scanning technology, we will use your personal information to identify you at certain entry points (e.g., VIP areas, seminars, entrances/exits to other event areas). Attendee badges cannot be read remotely. Information obtained from scanning attendee badges will be used for access control, security checks, and visitor traffic analysis to improve the event experience for visitors and other participants. You may also allow exhibitors to scan your attendee badge. When they do so, we will share your detailed contact information with that exhibitor, to be used in accordance with applicable data protection laws, the exhibitor's privacy policy, and any other notices or consent forms provided to you at the event.
When we organise and manage virtual exhibitions or events, we and any third-party platform providers acting on our behalf will use the personal information you provide during registration to host and manage such online events, and to analyse visitor interactions and traffic to improve the event experience and provide a personalised exhibition experience.
Publishing Services
If you publish works through our platforms, we will use your personal information (including information of designated representatives or beneficiaries) to promote and publicise your published works and to fulfil contractual obligations, which is necessary for our legitimate interests as a commercial organisation. Your name and affiliation will be published as part of the work. We may also use your personal information to process payments or for other purposes necessary to perform our contract with you.
Marketing
We use your personal information to send you newsletters, offers, or other marketing emails to keep you informed of news, events, and products that may interest you. Depending on the nature of your interaction with us and applicable data protection laws, you may have actively given us your consent (i.e., opted in), or we may be entitled to market to you based on your implied consent or our legitimate interests. When you download and use some of our mobile applications and participate in specific event interactions, we may collect information about your various behaviours (e.g., viewing event guides, viewing event schedules, viewing participant profiles, sending messages, adding event sessions to your schedule) to implement gamification. You can control sharing through your settings and can opt out of gamification at any time.
Customer-Facing Marketing Services
We combine personal information we collect and use such information to create profiles that identify your/your company's business interests. As part of our marketing services, we use this information on behalf of or for the benefit of our customers to provide personalised, targeted marketing campaigns. We carry out such marketing activities in accordance with your consent choices.
Social Media
We use your personal information when conducting marketing campaigns through social media platforms (e.g., WeChat, LinkedIn) to provide you with information about upcoming events or new products and to ensure you only receive advertisements related to our products and services. We may share your personal information with social media platforms so that, when you interact with those platforms, they may show you advertisements for our products and services as well as those of our partners that may interest you.
Surveys
We use your personal information (including contact information, pseudonymised demographic information, and any feedback or answers you provide) to conduct surveys on our own behalf or on behalf of third parties.
Customer and Prospect Management (including Analytics and Product Improvement)
The personal information we hold about you, along with other personal information lawfully obtained and shared with us by third parties or publicly available data, may be used to help us better understand our customers and their preferences and to improve the products and services we offer.
Mobile Application and Website Analytics
We combine visitor session information or other information collected through tracking technologies (whether or not you are logged in) with personally identifiable information to understand and analyse your online experience, improve the operational efficiency or service quality of our websites, and identify events, products, and services that may interest you.
Our marketing emails may contain "web beacons" (pixels) to track email opens and link clicks. The pixels will be deleted when you delete the email.
Online Member Communities, Bulletin Boards, and Chat Rooms
You may choose to participate in online member communities on our websites to create and post profiles and other personal information. Please note that by participating in these online communities, other members may be able to see certain personal information about you. If you contact us via a customer enquiry chat room, the information will be treated as private and will only be used to respond to your question.

We have detailed security and data protection policies and provide data protection training to our employees, requiring them to comply with relevant rules when handling personal information.
While we take all reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, we cannot guarantee the security of information you transmit to our websites or other services because we cannot control the transmission process. We use HTTPS protocol to encrypt communications, ensuring data transmission security.
